Our Thermal Vacuum chambers are capable of being designed and manufactured to test lunar stimulants specifically Regolith. Our TVAC systems are designed and produced for use in laboratory production and testing applications that require an exposure to or process within a controlled vacuum environment. With this system Abbess’ engineers really pushed the boundaries as to what is possible with one of our Thermal Vacuum Systems. Having six separate proportioning valves to control the flow of LN2 to each side of the systems thermal plate and shroud. By doing this our Engineers were capable of significantly increasing the cool down rate within the chamber with rates of 5°C/min with it capable of handling rates up to 10°C/min.
-With integrated controls from Abbess’s custom PC/GUI system allowing us to achieve temperatures of +150°C and –150°C.

With this rendition of our Thermal Vacuum chamber the customer needed slow pump down times to eliminate “boiling” of the regolith. With the integration of a soft pump filter to the roughing pump we were able to still achieve the desired vacuum range of 10^-7 Torr without agitating the test matter.
– Using our custom PC/GUI to integrate a custom ramp down rate utilizing specific gauges that monitor the regolith to ensure that it is not agitated.
